Gisela Antony

is psychologist and computer scientist. She is head of the Central Information Office (CIO), Marburg University, with long-lasting experience in supporting medical research.

She is principle investigator of the project SP3: "IT platform for the Dystonia Translational Research and Therapy Consortium (DysTract)",

which provides the needed databases for the projects

SP1: "A randomized, sham-controlled trial of pallidal neurostimulation versus botulinum toxin treatment for cervical dystonia (StimTox-CD)"

and SP2: "German Dystonia Registry: Natural History, Epidemiology, Genetics, and Clinical Trial Resource".

Among several others, the Central Information Office (CIO) Marburg provides the Competence Network of Multiple Sclerosis, the Competence Network on Therapeutic Drug Monitoring in Child and Youth Psychiatry, the European chILD-EU network and the European TransEUro network with sufficient integrated IT infrastructures, dealing with medical, imaging, and biomaterial data.

Since 2002 Gisela Antony is an active member of the Data protection working group and the IT infrastructure and Quality management working group of the umbrella organization for networked medical research in Germany (TMF). Therefore she is always up-to-date with changing law regulations and technological progresses in the field of medical informatics. Since 2010 she is vice chairman of the Data Protection working group.
